This painting is called Du’a, which means ‘blessings.’
I created this piece especially for a warm-hearted family who is very close to me a family that has also brought me closer to God. This is my first painting with this beautiful symbol of the Ayat al-Kursi. It was challenging because everything had to be perfect for me.
Every little detail I spend hours on it.
The colors bronze, black, and copper represent hope, serenity, and light. May these colors also bring that same feeling to their beautiful home
I have always believed in God and was raised with that belief. Without God, I would be nowhere. I am very religious. Most of you know my story, which is also on my magazine if you haven’t read it.
For me, it was always about dealing with uncertainty over things I couldn’t control.
And whenever I pray and think of God, it gives me a warm and peaceful feeling. In that moment, I forget everything and focus solely on reading what is written in our holy book.
For Muslims, this is the Quran; for Sikhs, it is the Gurbani. All in all, it points in one direction.
There is a connection between them.
For Muslims, God is called Allah; for us, it is Waheguruji. Yet, the meaning is the same for both—one God.
With this faith, I am where I am today.
The people for whom I made this painting have brought me more closer to God.
